This tutorial will teach you the basic turbulence modeling techniques in FLUENT and show you why it is important to specify profiles for turbulence quantities when specifying a velocity profile at the inlet boundary
This tutorial is based on an incompressible, turbulent backward-facing step flow measured experimentally by Driver and Seegmiller. You will use the upgraded k-omega turbulence model in FLUENT to simulate the flow and validate the turbulence model
Problem Description
A schematic of the backward step in a wind tunnel is shown in the following figure
